A couple has gone viral after sharing pictures of their Pokemon-themed wedding, wowing fans with photos of their special day.
Dexerto has covered some wacky and wonderful weddings over the years, but this Pokemon one might just take the Pikachu-themed cake for the cutest we’ve ever seen.
Posting on X, a couple in Japan shared photos of a yellow frosting wedding cake topped with Pikachu macarons, while the couple’s table had been decked out with a special wedding variant Pikachu.
The bride’s electric-type mon featured a cute flower nestled on its ear, while the groom’s had a smart top. And, just in case you were in any doubt over their love for the series’ signature electric mouse, two oversized Pikachu also attended the special ceremony.
Pokemon wedding is overloaded with cuteness
While the couple still opted for a traditional white wedding dress and formal suit attire, guests were pictured holding their own favorite Pokemon plushies and matching Poke Balls.
Everything from mythical mon’ Mew to loyal dog Pokemon Arcanine made an appearance, but it was Jolteon and Luxray who the bride and groom chose for their signature starters. Both plushies are shown sitting at the wedding table, presumably waiting for a slice of the rather delicious-looking Pikachu cake.

“It was a Pokémon wedding!!! Over 80 people, total chaos with such a huge crowd, but it went off without a hitch,” wrote the newlyweds on X. “Thanks to everyone who came and everyone who helped out!!!!!! Thank you, Pikachu, too!”

Whether the couple used the official Pokemon wedding rings to seal the deal remains to be seen, but either way, it’s one of the cutest ways to hold an ‘I Choose You’ wedding event.
